During my time at The University of Cincinnati I was a Cincinnatus Scholar, received for my outstanding academics and community involvement. As apart of my scholarship I was involved in several community outreach programs. These are outlined below.
BEARCAT BUDDIES
For the first two years at The University of Cincinnati I was involved in a campus tutoring program called Bearcat Buddies. I was a high school math, in class tutor at Hughes High School. I spent 2 hours a week in an algebra class room helping students with any questions they had that the teacher didn't have time to address. I found this experience very rewarding and I got to develop relationships with certain students throughout my two years tutoring there.

SPCA FOSTER
During my third year at The University of Cincinnati I spent 3 months fostering a Pitt Mix from the Hamilton County SPCA. His name was Fin. He had been hit by a car, which had broken his back left knee. After about a month at the shelter, he developed kennel cough which progressed into fungal phenomena. After months of being extremely sick, this diagnosis was made and Fin was put on medication which I administered daily. It took him several more months to recover, but Cali and I were patient and eventually taught him how to be a dog again. Fostering Fin was one of the most rewarding ways I have spent my time and, although we were sad, Cali and I were so happy for him when we got better and found a forever home.

KNIT FOR THE NEEDY
Since my second year at The University of Cincinnati I have been involved in Knit for the Needy. This is a program where supplies are provided and you knit scarves, hats, gloves, and blankets for those less fortunate. These are periodically donated throughout the semesters to homeless shelters to provide to those in need. I have found this to be a great way to spend my spare time. It combines one of my favorite hobbies with an opportunity to help my community.
